Labneh is a very thick, lightly salted, long drained yogurt from the middle eastern kitchen. The yogurt has a sharp, slightly sour aroma that, in combination with the mouthfeel, creates an intense taste sensation. In the Zuivelarij, we still make the cheesein the traditional way. The yogurt strains in linen bags for 48 hours. All the good things of the yogurt are concentrated in this way.

The Middle East on your plate

You don’t eat Labneh like other yogurt. You eat it as a dip, snack, mezze, sharing, savory breakfast, healthy meal or meat substitute. Spread it on your most beautiful plate, top with olive oil, fresh or dried herbs. Or use grilled vegetables and salsa, and eat with delicious flatbread. The possibilities with this savory yogurt are truly endless.
