Is Labneh healthy?
Ofcourse Labneh is healthy! However, in our Zuivelarij, taste is our main concern. The nutritional value of our labneh consists mainly of proteins, fats, minerals and vitamins. Good news for people with lactose intolerance: Labneh contains very little lactose because the milk is almost completely acidified during the production process.
And there is even more good news: because the milk is pasteurized you can safely eat our Labneh when you are pregnant.
We make our Labneh with sheep’s milk. Sheep’s milk naturally contains a lot of nutrients.
The best possible Labneh
When it comes to making our products better, in the Zuivelarij we are not averse to technological aids. Our Labneh contains a small amount of the completely safe potassium sorbate. This is a preservative against fungi and yeasts that occurs in nature in the rowan tree, among others.

Source of proteins and fats
Even more than yogurt – because it’s concentrated! – Labneh is an excellent source of proteins and fats. The nutritional value of labneh is also in the vitamins and minerals such as B12 and calcium. In addition, our labneh has less lactose than yogurt, because it acidifies longer. Our labneh is vegetarian, but not vegan.
If you eat our Labneh with vegetables, fresh herbs and bread then you immediately eat a full-fledged and healthy meal.
